What's included

• Top, sides and front face cut to your chosen height and width
• All arisings cleared from site and disposed of properly (we carry an EA upper-tier waste-carrier registration)
• Brush-down of the path, lawn or driveway underneath
• Six-week section-211 notice filed on your behalf if you're in the Whitstable Conservation Area and the hedge has any stems over 75mm at chest height
• Fixed price quoted in advance - no day-rate creep

Pricing

Most routine trims in Whitstable fall in the £120 – £400 range depending on hedge length, height, and how much access we need. We give a fixed price after seeing photos and the postcode.

Timing by species and exposure

The best window depends on species and how exposed the plot is.

• Escallonia, Griselinia, tamarisk (seafront-tolerant) - late spring and late summer, two cuts a year on fast growers
• Privet, Leylandii, thuja - fast-growing, often needs two cuts a year
• Beech, hornbeam (better inland toward Chestfield than on the seafront) - single late-summer cut (August to early September) keeps the russet winter leaves
• Yew - single late-August cut; performs better a few streets back from direct salt spray
• Native mixed (hawthorn, blackthorn, elaeagnus) - winter only (September to February) to comply with nesting law

What we don't do on trimming jobs

If a hedge needs more than a routine cut - it's overgrown, gappy, leaning, browning on one face, or has outgrown the position - that's a reduction job or a diagnosis first, not a routine cut. We'll tell you that at quote stage.
